All through the month of February, members and friends of the Ethiopian Community took part in the virtual fundraising challenge #RacetoAdwa , which involved collectively running / Walking the distance from Addis Ababa to Adwa, and back !
For the second year running this event was tremendously successful, the virtual finale event on March 2nd, had over 100 participants across the world and was a fantastic evening of educational talks, music, poetry and Ethiopian culture. This was followed by the Race to Adwa Grand finale at Fairfield House, which involved participants meeting at Bath Abbey and marching together to the finish line at Fairfield House, and then enjoying a day full of celebration.
Over £2500 was raised for Fairfield House, to help preserve the enduring legacy of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie and family in the City of Bath and we are very thankful to all organisers, participants and supporters across the world.
