Visit the Ethiopian Emperor’s Palace in Bath

A refurbished Fairfield House, Home of H.I.M Haile Selassie I, 2 Kelston Road, BA1 3QJ, Bath's positive African history landmark, is opening on Sundays in October to visitors by historical guided tour.

This hidden piece of Bath’s history holds an amazing story, home to Emperor Haile Selassie I and the Ethiopian Royal family, during those difficult years of exile from Ethiopia from 1936 - 1943, where the Emperor was working tirelessly to liberate his country from fascism. Discover stories about his difficult and tragic life in exile with the Ethiopian Royal family, his prophetic speech to the League of Nations, the faith of the Emperor and Empress and their close friendship with Sylvia Pankhurst.

Visitors have time after each tour to explore the museum and exhibitions and a Caribbean Lunch is available for all visitors after the guided tour, with both meat and vegan options.
